Product Insights
The Playful Tech Table Lamp by Simons Maison is a compact accent piece that combines warm, diffused ambient lighting (400-500 lumens) with a wireless charger and USB port, plus a ledge for small items, all powered by a single cord to reduce clutter. Its aluminum frame and polycarbonate panels dissipate heat, keep the lamp touch-safe, and prevent cracks, while the opal blown glass globe delivers glare-free, eye-friendly light that resists yellowing. The main tradeoff is its fixed brightness: it creates a cozy mood but is too dim for reading and too bright for a nightlight, limiting its versatility.
Verified claims
- Ambient vs task
- Warm diffused 400-500 lumen glow for ambient mood, not task reading.
- Heat management
- Aluminum frame dissipates heat to maintain color and brightness stability.
- Fixed brightness
- Fixed 400–500 lumen output cannot be dimmed, limiting the lamp to ambient accent lighting rather than adjustable task lighting.
- Light quality
- Opal glass globe creates a broad, soft, glare-free ambient light.
- Multifunction
- Top-mounted wireless charging pad and built-in USB port charge two devices at once, while the frame offers a ledge for small items.
- Lighting
- Outward-projected 3000K warm-white LED provides ambient light at a fixed 400–500 lumens.
- Construction
- Aluminum frame and thermoplastic body dissipate heat and absorb impact.
- Durability
- Aluminum heat sink (205 W/m·K) keeps the lamp touch-safe, while thermoplastic polymer and polycarbonate panels resist cracks and dents.
- Glass quality
- Opal blown glass globe resists yellowing and creates even, eye-friendly light.
- Phone placement
- Phone sits at eye level while charging, without blocking the lamp's light.
- Notification visibility
- Notifications can be checked at night without casting a shadow across the bed.
- Dimensions
- Compact 5.25x6x6-inch lamp integrates a wireless charger and a catch-all ledge
- Cable management
- Single cord powers both lamp and charger, reducing cable clutter
- Versatility
- Top-mounted wireless charging pad, built-in USB port, power outlet connection, and storage ledge in one compact frame.
- Value
- At CA$149, the lamp combines a built-in LED, wireless charger, and storage shelf.
- Maintenance
- Built-in 3000K LED eliminates bulb replacements, guaranteeing consistent output.
- Design accent
- Navy/Midnight Blue, Red, Pink, and Lemon/Canary Yellow high-saturation options make the lamp a deliberate decor accent.
- Valet tray
- The frame ledge holds small daily items like keys, earbuds, or a wallet.
- Charging
- Top shelf features a wireless charger and USB port for two-device charging.
- Included power adapter
- One buyer reports the lamp ships with a USB-C to USB-A cable and no wall plug.
- Cord length
- One buyer finds the power cord is a bit short.
- Wireless charging heat
- One reviewer reports their phone got hot quickly on the wireless charger.
- Wireless charging compatibility
- The top-mounted pad uses Qi-compatible wireless charging and is not MagSafe; the phone must sit flat within roughly 2–6 mm, and thick, metal-backed, or MagSafe-ring cases should be removed before charging.
- Compact footprint
- The lamp stands about 6 inches tall and 5.25 inches wide with a footprint roughly the size of a hardcover book, so it fits on a nightstand or desk without dominating the surface.
- Power-on reliability
- One buyer reports the lamp occasionally would not turn on until the cable was replugged.

Bedside or desk lamp that wirelessly charges your phone
Set this modern lamp on your nightstand or office desk to keep your phone topped up overnight or during the workday: the top plate doubles as a wireless charging station, and the lamp also includes a built-in USB port. Wireless charging only works with devices that are compatible with wireless technology. Note that a customer review reports the USB port can cause phones to overheat within minutes, so the wireless charger may be the more reliable option for topping up devices.[1]
Bedside and mood lighting with touch dimming
As a bedside or ambient lamp, its touch controls and dimmable glow suit nighttime use without fumbling for switches, casting a soft, diffused warm light meant for mood rather than task work. Note that swiping adjusts brightness on most units, though a few users report dimming that doesn't work at all. The lamp is USB-powered but the included short cable has no wall plug, so you'll need your own adapter.[1]
A playful accent light for bedside, office, or console
This lamp works as a decorative accent piece, with a colourful frame and modern design meant to add eclectic charm to a bedroom or office. One customer review described it as a soft, cheerful ambient accent on a dining room console that sparked conversation, and its design has been noted to fit both bedside and dining spaces.[1]
A nightstand or desk spot for small everyday items
This modern table lamp's colourful frame doubles as a spot to hold small everyday items, per the retailer. Place it on a bedside table or office desk to keep essentials within reach while adding an eclectic touch to the decor.[1]

| Playful Tech Table Lamp: Choose this if you want a compact accent lamp (about 5.25 inches wide and 6 inches high) for a bedroom or office that doubles as a phone-charging station, with a top wireless charging pad (only for wireless-compatible devices), a built-in USB port, and a colorful C-shaped frame that can hold small everyday items. Its built-in 5W, 3000K LED behind an opal blown-glass globe gives soft, diffused ambient light that reviewers describe as ideal for mood lighting and nighttime touch-dimming rather than task work. Note that some users report the USB port overheating phones quickly, the included short USB-C cable lacking a wall plug (you supply your own adapter), occasional power-on issues requiring the cable to be replugged, and dimming that a few units lack entirely.[1] | Moon Lamp: Choose this if you want a small, sculptural table lamp with a celestial mood rather than bright task lighting: its ribbed dome shade glows warm amber and, when lit, its patterned inner surface is described as creating the illusion of two interlaced moons with soft, layered shadows, while the asymmetric matte-base design reads as a decorative object even when off. This black one-size variant measures 6.75 by 8 by 13.75 inches (17 x 20 x 35 cm) with a built-in LED, lithium battery, and a 1-meter (39.5-inch) cord, so plan placement around the short cord and its cozy, localized glow.[2,3,4] | Black Projector Table Lamp: Choose this if you want a matte black metal desk lamp with a projector/stage-light look, a tilting cylindrical head, and a built-in USB-A port in the base (labeled 5V DC, 1A output) for charging devices, at a compact 20.5 inches tall with a 7-inch weighted base. It is operated by an on/off rocker button on the front of the base and uses an E26 bulb of up to 40 watts. Note that the bulb is not included and some assembly is required, though hardware and tools are provided.[5,6,7,8] |

Réjouissante!
Très beau design épuré, mais qui ne se prend pas trop au sérieux. Donne une lumière d’ambiance douce et joyeuse ( dans notre cas, sur une petite console de salle à dîner) . Très, très contente de mon achat!
Cute lamp
It's really nice though the power cord is a bit short and my phone got hot pretty quick while charging
beautiful but with issues
I really wanted to like this lamp. When it’s on, it has a beautiful diffused glow, but it wouldn’t always turn on until I replugged it. It doesn’t come with a wall plug, just a cable from usb-c to usb-a. The charging aspect is nice, but I wish the light could also be dimmed, especially for the price, I think it could be better, it is however a beautiful design.
