Product Insights
Yummi Candles' The Loft Match Glass Match Holder Set of 75 offers 7.5-inch safety matches that exceed standard lengths to light deeply recessed wicks, enabling one-handed striking and multiple candle lighting per match, all housed in a refillable cork-capped glass jar with a replaceable striker strip; however, the premium design comes at about 10¢ more per match than typical sets, requires humidity maintenance to preserve the cork seal, and carries execution risks including color mismatches and slow service.
Verified claims
- Reach
- 7.5-inch matches exceed safety minimums and reach deeply recessed wicks.
- Burn time
- A single 7.5-inch match lights multiple candles in succession.
- Convenience
- One-handed striking and easy retrieval from the jar.
- Value
- About 10¢ more per match than standard sets, with longer sticks and larger bottle offsetting the premium.
- Refillability
- 75 matches cost $18 (24¢ each); refills with standard 7.5‑in safety matches.
- Striker care
- The side striker is a strip printed on the bottle's label and supports in-bottle striking; it is not a separate replaceable component, so once it wears smooth a separate matchbox striker is needed.
- Cork care
- Cork cap is water‑resistant; maintain 50‑70% humidity to preserve the seal.
- Design aesthetic
- Narrow clear glass with a cork stopper reads as a modern, elegant accent for indoor coffee-table or mantel placement; keep it away from radiators and sunny windows so the cork does not dry out and loosen.
- Functional design
- 7.5-inch matches enable one-handed striking and lighting deep candles; refillable jar.
- Per-match cost
- At $18, each of the 75 matches costs about 24¢.
- Brand heritage
- Yummi Candles, family-owned in Canada since 1976; product line includes Mini Match.
- Match length
- Matches are 7.5 inches long, about 3.5 inches longer than the 4-inch sticks typical of coffee-table match jars.
- Container
- Clear cylindrical glass jar with cork cap and integrated side striker, holding 75 long white matches; the jar measures 8 inches high by 2.25 inches in diameter (20.25 x 5.75 cm).
- Product line coordination
- Yummi also offers a Mini Match option with 50 short 2-inch matches in a 2.5-inch jar for coordinated home lighting.
- Design refinement
- Natural cork and 7.5 matches enable in-jar striking and moisture protection, refined over 50 years.
- Execution risk
- Yummi candle buyers report receiving candle colors that differ from the website and describe customer service as slow to resolve issues.
- Design harmony
- The Loft and Yummi's Mini Match share a clear glass-jar design and create a cohesive, branded look for different lighting stations.
- Functional range
- The Loft's 7.5-inch matches reach deep candle vessels and fireplaces; Yummi's Mini Match comes with 50 short 2-inch matches in a 2.5-inch jar.
- Match type
- The included matches are safety matches that must be struck on the side striker strip, not strike-anywhere.
- Refill compatibility
- After the included 7.5-inch matches are used, the holder can be refilled with standard-length matches and the side striker will continue to light them.
- Scent
- The included matches are unscented, with no added fragrance.
- Coffee-table design accent
- Buyers describe The Loft Match as a chic little gift for candle lovers, and the clear glass jar with cork cap and side striker is designed to sit out as a mantle or coffee-table accent.

This white variant is a clear glass tube with a cork stopper and a striker on the side, holding 75 long matches with white heads, each about 7.5 inches long; the bottle measures 2.25 inches in diameter by 8 inches high. Note that the set includes a fixed quantity of 75 matches with no indication of refills.[1,2,3] | Mini Match Glass Match Holder Set Of 50: Choose this if you want a decorative way to keep matches handy: a small glass jar with a cork lid that includes 50 two-inch wooden matches with white heads and a striker on the glass. Reviewers praise it as chic counter or bathroom decor and a charming small gift, but report the built-in striker often fails to ignite and match quality varies, with some sets containing short or dead matches—so plan on a separate striker for reliable lighting.[4,5,6] |

Yummi candles as an option for wedding candles, noting price and alternatives
Yummi offers great options, but can get a bit pricy. Others here have mentioned IKEA, which is a great idea if that multi-size look is your vibe. Floating candles will be *way cheaper* than pillars (and more readily sold in bulk), so that might be a good compromise if you like the look of different sized hurricanes, but don't want to spend a fortune on pillars.

Negative review of Yummi candles due to severe color mismatch and poor customer service
Do not buy from Yummi Candles. I'm now receiving a third shipment of candles from them because the first two shipments are extremely different from their website pictures. I ordered Sandstone (cream/tan color) candles last month and they came in as a dark purple. Over two weeks and 20 emails later, they finally agreed to give me another shipment of candles, but couldn't clarify if the new shipment would be the correct shade of sandstone or dark purple. New shipment comes in... even darker purple.

Observation that Yummi candle glass can get burned over time
I’ve used Yummi over the years and do find that the glass can get a bit burned looking… however I’m not sure if it was just the colored candles that had that affect, or the white/ivory as well. Might be worth a test run?
