Product Insights
The Sweet Fig Scented Candle from Simons Maison (20 CAD, in stock) is a 90% soy and vegetable wax candle scented with a 10% fragrance-oil blend that reads as sweet, fruity fig with a creamy fig-milk facet and soft blended florals rather than green or leafy, opening fresh and fruity before settling into a soft, slightly woody base, with a throw strong enough that a buyer reports it is pleasant on walking into the room, and burning without paraffin's soot or formaldehyde. Its core promise is up to 35 hours of scent—about nine to twelve evenings of four-hour use—but that figure is an estimate because wick size, not the 200 g jar, sets real burn time; achieving it requires a 2–3 hour first burn to melt edge to edge, trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before every lighting to recover up to 25% more burn time, and avoiding airflow from vents, open windows, or AC, which burns 15–25% faster.
Verified claims
- Scent profile
- Sweet fig includes a fig-milk facet — a creamy, lightly nutty warmth binding fruit to soft woods.
- Fig style
- The fig reads sweet and fruity with soft, blended florals, not green or leafy.
- Drydown
- Opens fresh and fruity, then settles into a soft, slightly woody base.
- Scent throw
- A buyer reports the scent is pleasant on walking into the room.
- Air quality
- 90% soy and vegetable wax, burning without paraffin's soot or formaldehyde.
- Burn time
- Rated up to 35 hours of scent — about nine to twelve evenings of typical four-hour use.
- Burn technique
- Give the first burn 2–3 hours so the wax melts edge to edge; stopping short tunnels every later burn.
- Placement
- Airflow from a vent or open window burns the candle 15–25% faster.
- Wick care
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every lighting to recover up to 25% more burn time.
- Burn rate
- Wick size, not the 200 g jar, sets real burn time, so 35 hours is an estimate.
- Fragrance formulation
- Made from a 90% natural blend of soy and vegetable wax with 10% fragrance oils — a fragrance-oil blend, not essential oils.
- Fragrance character
- Sweet, fruity fig with a creamy milk facet, not a green or leafy fig.
- Origin
- Designed in Canada as a Simons Maison exclusive.
- Scent throw in medium rooms
- For a 12x12 ft room, expect a moderate scent throw — noticeable nearby but may not fully fill the space; a 200 g candle like this suits smaller rooms such as bathrooms and bedrooms better.

Scenting a room with a sweet fig fragrance
Light this scented candle when you want a fresh, fruity, slightly woody fragrance with sweet notes of fig and flowers in a room. The retailer describes it as filling every room with its scent and evokes the feel of the Mediterranean coast on long summer days. It comes in a white glass jar with a single wick.[1,2]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Sweet Fig Scented Candle: Choose this if you want a fruity, slightly woody fig-and-flower scent that the retailer describes as evoking the Mediterranean coast, in a 200 g frosted glass jar with a matte black lid. It burns for up to 35 hours and is made with a 90% natural blend of soy and vegetable wax plus 10% fragrance oils. Note that the claim that it fills every room with fragrance is the retailer's own assertion.[1,2,3] | Jasmine And Vetiver Scented Candle: Choose this if you want a delicate, festive fragrance—citrus and eucalyptus opening into jasmine, cinnamon, tonka bean, vanilla, and a woody vetiver base—blended into a 90% soy wax candle. Its ribbed green glass jar with a matching lidded top works as a decorative accent on a shelf or mantel, and reviewers describe it as an appealing holiday stocking stuffer or small gift. Note that most reviewers find the aroma beautiful but a few report a subtle throw that may go unnoticed in larger rooms, and some found the burn time shorter than expected (the retailer lists up to 16 hours of scent).[4,5] | Lavender And Sagewood Scented Candle: Choose this if you want a subtle, herbal lavender-sage candle for gentle ambient scenting in small spaces — reviewers find it pleasant and not overpowering, though one fragrance-sensitive reviewer felt the aroma was slightly stronger than desired. Choose it also as a ready-to-give present for Valentine's Day or bridal occasions, since its pink heart-shaped glass container doubles as decor and can be reused once the candle is burned. It is made with a 90% soy and vegetable wax blend with 10% scented oil and measures about 3 by 3 by 2 inches (8 x 8 x 5 cm) in a single size.[6] |
