Product Insights
The Simons Maison Rectangular Pure Linen Removable Cover Cushion (30x50 cm, $59) delivers a tailored designer look with its pure linen's slubbed weave, which diffuses light for a matte surface with subtle depth, while being breathable, moisture-absorbent, and naturally hypoallergenic. Its hidden zipper and fine monochromatic trim preserve clean lines, and the rectangular shape functions as both a central anchor and corner bridge. However, the feather fill requires daily patting to maintain loft and must never be machine-washed; only the removable cover can be cleaned. At $59, it offers superior breathability and feel over cheaper linen-blend cushions but demands consistent maintenance and has a sealed, non-adjustable fill.
Verified claims
- Texture
- Pure linen's slubbed weave diffuses light, creating a matte surface with subtle depth.
- Comfort
- Breathable and moisture-absorbent, naturally hypoallergenic for a clean, cool surface.
- Value
- At 59 CAD, this 100% linen cover offers superior breathability and feel over 29 CAD linen‑blend cushions.
- Daily care
- Daily patting preserves loft and extends lifespan beyond synthetics.
- Airing
- Air in direct sunlight prevents musty odours.
- Cleaning
- Never machine-wash the fill; clean the removable cover only.
- Fill adjustability
- Sealed fill cannot be adjusted.
- Hidden zipper
- Hidden zipper on the edging avoids snagging, preserves the seamless look, and enables easy cleaning.
- Structural trim
- Fine trim prevents feather fill from slouching out of shape.
- Styling function
- Rectangular trim cushion works as central anchor and corner bridge.
- Designer trim
- Fine monochromatic trim gives tailored designer look at $59.
- Placement
- Rotate to bridge L-shaped sofa corner gaps.
- Linen fabric
- The cover is made from durable, low-pill long-fiber linen with a slubbed texture that resists pilling and mixes with other fabrics.
- Design
- Hidden zip and fine trim preserve clean lines and tailored silhouette.
- Feather fill
- Feather fill recovers quickly with daily patting and must not be thumped.
- Maintenance
- Spot-clean removable cover; feather fill needs daily plumping to maintain loft.
- Machine wash care
- The manufacturer's recommended care is to wipe the linen cover clean with a damp cloth only; machine washing is not recommended. If you do choose to wash it, use cold water on a gentle cycle and air dry flat to minimize shrinkage.
- Firmness
- The cushion's plush feather fill provides comfortable seating support with a soft, pliable feel typical of feather cushions.
- Fill material
- The cushion is filled with 100% responsible feathers — pure feather, not a feather-down blend.
- Cover construction and care
- The cover is 100% linen, removable via a hidden zipper on the edging, and the manufacturer specifies wipe-clean care with a damp cloth only.
- Size
- The cushion measures 30 x 50 cm, a rectangular lumbar-size footprint for sofas, benches, and beds.
- Design origin
- The cushion is designed in Canada as a Simons Maison exclusive, not a mass-market import.
- Linen break-in
- The pure linen cover is not pre-washed or stonewashed and softens gradually with use; because care is wipe-clean only, it won't gain laundering-based softness.
- Cover swappability
- The hidden zip on the edging makes the cover removable and swappable, but replacement covers for this 30 x 50 cm size are not sold separately.

Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Rectangular Pure Linen Removable Cover Cushion 30 X 50 Cm: Choose this if you want a simple, monochromatic accent cushion: the brown, 12 by 20 inch (30 x 50 cm) variant pairs a pure linen cover with a fine trim and a feather fill that Simons describes as very comfortable. The cover removes via a hidden zip on the edging and easily wipes clean with a damp cloth, and the fill is 100% responsible feathers.[2] | Square Pure Linen Removable Cover Cushion 50 X 50 Cm: Choose this if you want a monochromatic 20 x 20 inch (50 x 50 cm) square cushion with a fine flange trim and a pure linen cover in the retailer's simple-linen aesthetic, available in Sand, Green, or Blue-Grey. It comes filled with what the retailer describes as very comfortable 100% responsible feathers, and the removable cover with a hidden zip in the edging easily wipes clean with a damp cloth. Note that close-up imagery shows slightly puckered seam joins, though their significance for overall quality is not established.[4,5,6] | Solid Pure Linen Removable-Cover Cushion Feather Fill 50 X 50 Cm: Choose this if you want a 20 by 20 inch (50 x 50 cm) sofa accent cushion with a 100% linen cover and certified responsible feather fill that reviewers describe as plush and supportive without flattening. The removable cover has a hidden zip for easy refreshing, and the solid, saturated colors (in White and Baby Blue) are reported to layer well with patterned throws. Note that it is spot clean only, the feather fill makes it heavier than typical synthetic pillows for frequent rearranging, and the edges are not reinforced, which one reviewer worries may affect durability in high-wear homes with pets or children.[1,7] |
