Product Insights
The Monochrome Chenille Bath Mat offers a thick, cushy 3 cm pile that stays plush and resists pilling after hundreds of washes, with water beading on the fiber surface to keep feet dry, and is made from 100% recycled polyester performing identically to virgin. Its TPR backing provides reliable, residue-free grip on smooth tile and wood floors and holds up after repeated washes, but shifts on textured stone surfaces. Drying twice as fast as memory foam mats, it delivers superior coverage, grip, and wash durability for $12.99, with the tradeoff being its unsuitability for textured stone.
Verified claims
- Traction
- The TPR backing provides reliable, residue-free grip on smooth tile and wood floors without suction cups; on heavily textured stone it anchors less securely.
- Durability
- Anti-slip backing stays effective after repeated washes and on heated bathroom floors.
- Floor protection
- TPR backing is latex-free, residue-free, and grout-safe without suction cups.
- Competitive pricing
- At $12.99, this mat outperforms competitors on coverage, grip, drying, and wash durability.
- Backing
- TPR backing provides reliable, residue-free grip on smooth tile and wood floors and withstands washing; grip may be reduced on heavily textured natural stone or embossed vinyl.
- Drying
- Dries within a few hours, twice as fast as memory foam mats.
- Eco parity
- 100% recycled polyester delivers the same wash durability and drying speed as virgin polyester.
- Snag prevention
- Using a mesh laundry bag in the wash prevents chenille snags.
- Pile height
- The chenille pile is about 3 cm high with a dense looped texture, making the mat thick and cushy underfoot.
- Dry plushness
- Water sits on the twisted chenille strands rather than soaking deep into the pile, so the mat doesn't feel waterlogged and rebounds to a dry touch quickly.
- Softness retention
- The mat is built to stay plush and resist pilling through over 100 machine-wash cycles.
- Care
- Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle and dry flat to help preserve the pile and backing.
- Moisture resilience
- Because it is 100% recycled polyester chenille rather than cotton or rayon, the mat repels water and resists shrinkage and water stains in daily damp bathroom use.
- Wet traction
- The TPR backing continues to grip on wet glazed porcelain tile, so the mat anchors immediately after a shower instead of skating across the floor.
- Wood floor protection
- The TPR backing grips sealed hardwood through friction rather than adhesives, so it can be used in wood-floored bathrooms without risking finish damage.

A plush landing spot for bare feet after a shower
Step out of the shower onto a thick, absorbent chenille pile that's soft underfoot and dries quickly, a comfort some reviewers describe as spa-like or even like a light foot massage. It's an easy fit for everyday post-shower routines, though reviews note it can lose some shape and softness with repeated washing, so it may be best for a guest or low-traffic bathroom.[2]
Brightening a bathroom with a pop of color
Choose this soft chenille mat when you want to gently brighten up a modern bathroom. Per summarized customer reviews, it comes in saturated, on-trend colors that most buyers find match the website and elevate their space. Keep in mind the grey option can look beige in certain light, so color matching may vary.[2]
Keeping your footing dry when stepping out of the tub or shower
This chenille bath mat is made for placement on the bathroom floor where you step out of the tub or shower, with a durable anti-slip backing intended for safety. It needs a stable, clean, and dry surface to grip properly, and reviewers report it works best on dry, textured floors — on polished or wet tile it can slide, which some note as a concern for slip-prone households. Placing it on textured tiles is the setting where it's most reliable.[2]
Keeping the chenille mat plush through gentle washing
The mat's care routine calls for washing in cold water on a delicate cycle and drying flat. Reviewers report mixed results with machine washing, even on delicate — some say the mat has unraveled, split at the seams, or become extremely heavy and waterlogged — and many report that hand washing extends its life. Several note the mat holds up well when cared for gently, though some say it can lose shape and softness after repeated washes.[2]
Fitting into tight bathroom layouts
A customer review highlighted in Simons' summary notes that this chenille bath mat's compact footprint fits easily in narrow spaces without overwhelming the floor, making it a fit for tighter bathroom layouts. Its low-profile, flat design helps it sit close to the floor. One reviewer is the basis for the fit comment, so individual spaces may vary.[2,3]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Monochrome Chenille Bath Mat See Available Sizes: Choose this if you want an exceptionally soft chenille mat made of 100% recycled polyester for daily post-shower comfort—reviewers report its dense, loopy pile is plush and even gives a light foot massage, and it is absorbent and quick-drying. It comes in two sizes (40 by 50 cm and 50 by 80 cm) and several saturated colors to suit compact or decor-driven bathrooms, though the grey option may read beige in certain light. Note that machine washing, even on a delicate cycle, has reportedly unraveled or split the mat, so hand washing and drying flat are recommended, and the anti-slip backing works best on dry, textured floors rather than smooth or wet tile.[1,2] | Soft Plush Bath Mat See Available Sizes: Choose this if you want a soft, warm micro-pile mat in a compact 50x80cm footprint for a small bathroom or shower entrance, offered in Black, Silver, Off White, or Navy/Midnight Blue in 100% recycled polyester with rubber anti-slip backing. Reviewers report rich, true-to-photo colors and cozy underfoot warmth, but note the mat is thinner than typical plush mats, so it offers gentle softness rather than deep cushioning. Be aware it may shed initially and resist vacuuming (cold-water delicate wash and flat drying are recommended), and some buyers report it can slide on very smooth floors when wet despite the backing.[4] | Organic Turkish Cotton Bath Mat 50 X 80 Cm: Choose this if you want a soft, absorbent, quick-drying bath mat with a plush yet lightweight feel — reviewers describe it as cushiony underfoot without bulking up the floor, and report it holds up to frequent machine washing without shrinking or fading. It is made of 60% organic cotton and 40% cotton, comes in a wide color range including Black, White, Ivory, Pearl Grey, Khaki, Blue-Grey, and Golden Yellow, and measures 50 x 80 cm (about 19.75 x 31.5 inches), which reviewers say fits standard bathrooms well. Note that a few found this size may run small for larger bathrooms or oversized tubs and wished for a larger version.[5] |

Nicer than shown
I’m really impressed with this bathmat. It’s soft to the touch and quite absorbent. It’s well made too. The colour matches the website. In fact it’s nicer. Highly recommend.

Love these bathroom rugs! Recently redid my bathroom in a midcentury modern design & the style, size and colour went perfectly with my new bathroom. The green is perfect with my white, brushed brass & walnut colour scheme. Super happy with them & they are so soft underfoot as well.

I'm pleased with the mat. My one complaint - and some might say that this is a plus, not a minus - is that the mat is almost too large for our smallish shower room. It is even too large for the rail to hang it on! Apart from that, it is plush, absorbent, and reasonably priced.
Tapis chenille
Il est tres confortable sous les pieds. Il sera magnifique dans ma selle de bain pour Noel prochain.
Comfy and cosy!
Perfect purchase
