Product Insights
This 100% rattan tissue box from Simons Maison offers a natural, humidity-regulating alternative to plastic that improves with age, developing a warm patina and structural integrity while keeping bathroom tissues dry. Priced at $40 CAD, it fits standard tissue boxes snugly, though taller bulk packs require removing the cardboard sleeve, and some units have misaligned lids or weak latches. The rattan color is lighter than photos but pairs well with warm decor and coordinates with matching accessories; however, it fades in direct sunlight, so it must be kept out of sun and cleaned with a barely damp cloth. The tradeoff is a durable, eco-friendly investment that ages gracefully versus plastic holders that need replacement, but with specific fit and maintenance considerations.
Verified claims
- Fit
- Reviewers report a tight fit with standard rectangular tissue boxes; several used shorter boxes or removed the tissue from the cardboard packaging so the lid would close cleanly.
- Lid alignment
- Some units arrive with misaligned lids or weak cover attachments; a few buyers returned or exchanged them for those issues.
- Color accuracy
- Buyers report the rattan color is lighter than photos but pairs well with warm decor.
- Color aging
- Rattan develops a warm patina with age but fades in direct sunlight.
- Collection consistency
- Color is consistent across the matching Simons Maison rattan accessories.
- Care
- Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; never soak and avoid direct sunlight.
- Sunlight protection
- Keep out of direct sunlight; rotate periodically to maintain even color.
- Durability
- 100% rattan weave flexes under impact and gains structural integrity with age.
- Humidity Regulation
- Rattan's hygroscopic fibers buffer humidity, keeping tissues dry.
- Patina
- Natural rattan deepens into a warm honey patina over time, unlike plastic that yellows and becomes brittle.
- Long-term value
- Over time, this rattan box develops a warm honey patina rather than yellowing and cracking like plastic holders in the same price tier, provided it stays dry and out of direct sunlight.
- Matching collection
- Part of the Simons Maison exclusive collection designed in Canada, with matching rattan items available.
- Price comparison
- Priced competitively against design-led UK rattan covers once converted to CAD, and Simons Maison exclusivity adds collection value over anonymous imports.
- Collection coordination
- Coordinates with matching rattan accessories for a unified bathroom look.
- Structure
- The rigid rattan construction comes from a dense weave that flexes slightly under pressure rather than cracking like molded plastic.
- Packaging concealment
- Buyers confirm the rattan cover completely hides a standard tissue box, leaving only the woven exterior visible.
- Cover mechanism
- The cover is a removable lid that rests over the opening with no hinge or latch; lift it straight off to swap the tissue box and set it back down.
- Natural variation
- As a natural material, rattan varies in tone and weave from piece to piece; product photos are representative rather than an exact match.
- Finish texture
- The rattan is tightly woven with a smooth, finished surface, and reviews praise its sturdy construction; there are no reports of it snagging tissues or fabrics.
- Bulk pack fit
- For taller bulk packs, remove the outer sleeve and keep the tissue stack under roughly 3.5 inches tall because the cover sits directly over the opening.

A warm, natural accent for a bathroom refresh
Use this rattan tissue box to add a natural, warm decorative touch to a bathroom. According to aggregated customer reviews, its warm weave and deep maple tone complement oak cabinetry and farmhouse décors, and reviewers report it often sparks compliments.[1]
Building a coordinated rattan look
Pairing this tissue box with other rattan pieces is a common way shoppers use it in the bathroom. Reviews note that its design matches well with rattan trays and bath benches, making it easy to pull together a cohesive, natural-material look. Only a couple of reviewers mentioned this, but it's a straightforward styling use if you already have rattan accessories.[1]
Concealing a standard tissue box
Made to slip over a standard-size tissue box, this rattan cover hides the cardboard packaging while keeping tissues within easy reach — an instant visual upgrade for a bathroom or vanity. Note that it's a tight fit: taller or bulk packs like Costco-size boxes won't allow the lid to close unless the cardboard sleeve is removed.[1]
Product comparison

| Rattan Tissue Box: Choose this if you want a natural, warm decorative accent for a bathroom—reviewers say its woven rattan texture and deep maple tone complement oak cabinetry and farmhouse or modern décors, and it pairs with matching rattan trays and bath benches. It measures 9.5 by 5 by 3.5 inches (24 x 13 x 9 cm), is made of 100 percent rattan, and includes a cover with a rectangular dispensing hole, sliding easily over boutique-size and standard tissue boxes; taller bulk packs like Costco won't fit unless you remove the cardboard sleeve. Note that some reviews mention the finish can seem modest for the price, occasional misaligned lids or weak latches, and a shade that may look paler than pictured.[1] | Acacia Wood Tissue Box: Choose this if you want a warm, decorative wood accent for a bathroom or living room — reviewers describe the solid acacia construction as magnificent and premium, and each piece's grain and color will be unique, with possible significant variation between units. Be aware it measures 10 by 5.5 by 3.5 inches, and per reviews the interior is about 0.5 cm too shallow for a standard cardboard tissue box, leaving the lid ajar; it works best with tissues transferred out of their cardboard box.[2,3] | White Bamboo-Resin Tissue Box: Choose this if you want a Scandinavian-inspired, rounded white cover in resin and biodegradable bamboo that hides garish tissue packaging in modern baths, kitchens, or open-plan living spaces, with a weighted resin base that resists sliding. It also works as a refillable holder for loose stacks or reusable fabric hankies, so you can bypass cardboard boxes entirely. Note that the cover fits only smaller or boutique tissue boxes—standard Kleenex 100+ count boxes require decanting, which some users found frustrating—and the resin shell can crack if bumped, with the bamboo lid sitting loosely on some units.[4] |

This rattan kleenex box is exactly as shown. I would recommend it
Very pleased with my purchase
Very pleased with my purchase 😊
This is a nice Kleenex
This is a nice Kleenex box but way over priced for what you get. It was smaller than I expected. I kept it but was very tempted to send back. Not a good value for your dollar. I gave it three stars because of pricing.
Perfect
Perfect in colour and in size. It matches oak cabinetry in my bathroom.
Nice quality, nice design.
Nice quality, nice design.
Lovely!
Just what I wanted for my powder room. Will be great as long as Kleenex boxes stay the same size - it was a tight fit.
Je l'adore
Très satisfaite de mon achat. Bon format et bonne couleur. Alors, je le recommande
Magnifique
Comme imaginé. Fit parfaitement. Tres esthétique.
Stylish
Doesn’t really fit a standard short tissue box that well. I had to flatten the tissue box a bit so that the lid of the holder stayed shut. Design flaw for a $40 item.
Excellent, a beautiful deep maple
Excellent, a beautiful deep maple colour. It takes a mundane item, and adds to the decor

Exactly as pictured
You do need a shorter tissue box, otherwise the lid is tight but I love it!
Tissue box
Love my rattan tissue box! Looks great in my bathroom. Thank you!
Objet de décoration
Pas juste utilitaire, mais vraiment très jolie
Magnifique
rattan tissue box
quality is not great...top of box doesn't fit well
Tissue Box
Excellent product. Very satisfied.
The rattan tissue box cover looks very nice, but could have been just a little larger as the tissue box fit is very tight. It would probably work better if the tissue was removed from the original cardboard box and then but in the rattan tissue box.
Chic!
